Parotid
The Parotid gland is a small oval like gland located below the oral cavity of the pig. In order to find it, first find the sternohyoid and the sternothyroid muscles are then look towards the snout of the pig. The gland will be a different consistency than all of the muscles surrounding it, and if you are to cut into the gland it will have a spongey look to it.
Submandibular
The submandibular gland is located superior to the parotid gland. In order to find the submandibular gland, continue past the partoid gland further toward the snout. It will have the same consistency and other charictaristics as the Partoid gland , but is a much more elongated shape. We were unable to locate this gland in our pig and the picture is not from our pig
Sublingual
The sublingual gland, as the name suggests is located below the tongue. In order to find this gland continue through the soft inferior part of the mouth and the glands will be there. We were unable to located this gland and the attached picture is not from our pig.
